FEMME FRIDAY // Ashley Neese

"Breathe properly. Stay curious. And eat your beets."

One of my favorite quotes by Tom Robbins, as it really sums it all up to me - and I have to say when writing this intro it reminded me perfectly of Ashley Neese.

Ashley holds the space as one of the most genuine, poised, and all around good people I know. Evolved - is the best word I can think of. And I'm so glad we are friends. I've had the opportunity to watch her evolve from an all around wellness advocate to a focused and creative entrepreneur specializing in breathwork.

Breath is essential to life - mentally and physically - and somehow this concept seems to have escaped most of us. We like to overcomplicate this idea of meditation, thinking that it requires a chic space to practice and all kinds of accoutrements. In reality the deepest access to a meditative moment is simply through the breath.

Times that I've spent with Ashley doing her work have been some of the most open moments I've experienced. Admittedly I'm good for a distraction, a dose of sarcasm, or some other form of diversion from getting down with my breath - but Ashley knows the way to pull you in. She helps guide you to access and capture your breath.

On a personal level, she is also s fellow southerner and her slight hint of an accent makes me really happy - and we're both graduates of Living Light Culinary Arts and have had our moment in the raw food world.

Thank you Ashley for all that you do, and for all the inspiration you bring!

xx
