FEMME FRIDAY // Gina Holmberg

One of the best things about having a product is connecting and building relationships. As you get to know more about the people you work with, it becomes more fun because you feel like you're in it together.

I'm also always impressed by our retailers who are opening up gorgeous shops everywhere! To see how the green beauty industry is growing across the country is not only encouraging, it is also deeply inspiring. As awareness about healthier products grows, so does the chance for us all to thrive.

I've been very intrigued by Gina Holmberg , founder of Within Apothecary - a lovely shop in Kansas City. Gina's enthusiasm for learning and research really translates through all that she does. She has a fresh curiosity that feels authentic and inspired. And I really enjoy reading her Instagram captions!

One thing the internet doesn't know about you?

Squirrels frighten me. I’m getting better though.

The can't live without it daily ritual that keeps you inspired?

Pausing to breathe deeply and pray before I get out of bed. Also my infrared sauna—a good sweat and sitting with my thoughts or listening to a podcast has been very healing for me.

What is in your desert island cosmetic bag, and how do you use it?

For sure Nucifera because you can use it SO many ways—cleansing, moisturizing, sun protecion, bug bites etc. Living Libations Ozonated Happy Gum Gel, CBD oil and RMS lip to cheek in either Promise or Spell.

And since we are on an island... what's your favorite way to use coconut?

I make a coconut milk pudding that makes for a really good breakfast!

TOP 3 books everyone needs to read while they are there?

The Gut and Psychology Syndrome

The Woman Code & The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution (I can’t choose one over the other!)

Joan of Arc by Mark Twain.

What impression do you want to leave?

I am completely obsessed with Ruth Rogers from the River Cafe’. Yes, she is an incredible chef that has created quite the business, however, it’s who she is as a person that touches me to the core. One interview she talks about the importance of sharing-your home, your food, your clothes, that it should be known that there is always another seat at the table. She also talks about the importance of fighting intolerance, poverty, justice and defending human rights. I hope to leave such an impression.
